Dear NBNA Members and Friends of NBNA:
On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, the NBNA Board of Directors voted to postpone the 2020 conference which was scheduled to take place at the Diplomat Resort, in Hollywood, Florida, July 28 – August 2, 2020. The decision was made based on the many challenges our nursing workforce in all areas of practice are facing during the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. These are uncertain times for all hospital systems, and schools of nursing. We are also concerned about the health of our members and the public health issues that are foremost in everyone’s mind.
The 2020 conference at the Diplomat Resort will take place July 23 – July 28, 2024.
As you know, NBNA will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2021! The grand celebration will take place during the 2021 conference at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. TX, August 3 – August 8, 2021.
If you have already registered for the 2020 conference, we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to roll your registration fee for 2020 to the registration for the 50th Anniversary at the Hilton Anatole in 2021. Or, if you prefer, you may request a refund by submitting a letter to Tracy Rudd at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Although I am disappointed that we will not be able to gather in person, I am excited for the new opportunities the NBNA staff and I will be exploring over the coming weeks. We are working quickly to determine the details of these opportunities and will communicate more information as soon as possible.
Please know that I am consistently impressed by the resilience and commitment of our NBNA nurses as we advocate for the communities that we serve and give back to future generations of nurses.
I thank you for all you do and above all, I hope you and your families are safe and well.
Martha A. Dawson, DNP, RN, FACHE
