Conference

May 24, 2021

Dear NBNA Members and Friends of NBNA:

On Thursday, May 13, 2021, the NBNA Board of Directors voted to postpone the 2021 conference which was scheduled to take place at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, in Dallas, TX,  August 3-8, 2021. The decision was made based on the findings of two NBNA membership surveys that resulted in the membership overwhelmingly responding that they were not planning to attend the NBNA Conference.  There are many challenges that our nursing workforce in all areas of practice are facing during the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. These are uncertain times for all hospital and health care systems and schools of nursing.  And, these are uncertain times for our Corporate Roundtable Members, sponsors and exhibitors.  We are also concerned about the health of our members and our partners and stakeholders.  The public health issues are STILL foremost in everyone’s mind.

NBNA will host a virtual conference August 3-8, 2021.   We will continue to celebrate the NBNA 50th Anniversary!   If you have already registered for the 2021 conference, we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to roll your registration fee for 2021 to the virtual registration.  Or, if you prefer, you may request a refund by submitting a letter to Tracy Rudd at admin@nbna.org.

Although I am disappointed that we will not be able to gather in person for the 49th Annual Conference and the 50th Anniversary Celebration, I am excited for the new opportunities the NBNA staff and I will be exploring over the coming weeks. We are working quickly to determine the details of these opportunities and will communicate more information as soon as possible.

Please know that I am consistently impressed by the resilience and commitment of our NBNA nurses as we advocate for the communities that we serve and give back to future generations of nurses. I thank you for all you do and above all, I hope you and your families are safe and well.

Sincerely,
