Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor
Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical or Adjunct series (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program)
 
The University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing Department of Community Health Systems seeks faculty experts for didactic and clinical teaching in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program. The PMHNP specialty program offers both in-person and online coursework. These faculty positions will be 20-100% FTE, appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical or Adjunct series. Faculty positions are open to Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and those in related behavioral health professions.
 
PMHNP Candidates:

PMHNP Position Responsibilities Include:
lo
• Teach didactic coursework;
• Curriculum design, development, implementation, and evaluation;
• Academic advisement;
• Oversight of student development of PMHNP role competencies through conducting weekly clinical conferences, monitoring student performance in clinical settings, and evaluating clinical assignments;
• Collaborate and closely coordinate with academic and clinical teams across multiple systems;
• Oversight and recruitment of clinical placements aligned with the PMHNP curriculum; -Recruit and retain a talented and diverse student cohort;
• Participate in School of Nursing committees and in professional organizations.
 
PMHNP Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing or DNP.
• Active, valid California RN license and NP certificate, or eligibility.
• ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health NP.
• Minimum one (1) year experience with clinical teaching.
 
PMHNP Desired Qualifications:
lo
• Doctoral degree – PhD, EdD, or DNP.
• Two or more years of clinical experience as a PMHNP.
• Evidence of teaching excellence, experience in patient care, and involvement in other scholarly and/or other creative activities.
• Academic preparation in curriculum development, teaching methodologies and supervised teaching residency/practicum.
• Academic and clinical teaching experience with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students/residents.
• Multilingual skills, including: Spanish, Vietnamese, &/or Middle Eastern languages.
 
Related Behavioral Health Profession Candidates:

Graduate-prepared candidates with expertise in the skills and knowledge base that are common across the behavioral health professions (e.g., mental health assessment, psychotherapy) are sought for 20-60% FTE positions that will be focused on teaching specific areas of knowledge and skill that are included in PMHNP practice.

Related Behavioral Health Profession Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in their profession.
• Evidence of teaching excellence, experience in patient care, and involvement in other scholarly activities.
• Academic preparation in curriculum development, teaching methodologies and supervised teaching residency/practicum.
• Academic and clinical teaching experience with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students/residents.
