Assistant / Associate Professor

Job Description:
The Oakland University School of Nursing is seeking applications for exceptional nurse researchers and educators for two tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August 15, 2022.  Candidates must hold a current Michigan Registered Nurse license or be eligible for Michigan RN licensure.

The School of Nursing provides high quality and accessible education to baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral students. Applicants will be expected to engage in scholarly activities, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and demonstrate a commitment to service.

Candidates must also demonstrate experience with or commitment to diversity and inclusion and developing a diverse faculty and student body.  Expertise in acute care, maternal child/OB, leadership, or psych/mental health nursing desired, but all qualified applicants will be considered. 

Minimum Qualifcations
t is preferred that candidates have a completed doctorate (PhD, DNP, DNSc, etc.) from an accredited university, PhD preferred. Applicants who are enrolled in a doctoral program and are all but completed with their dissertation or doctoral project may be considered if they can demonstrate evidence of degree completion prior to employment. Applicants must have a current, unrestricted RN License and must obtain a Michigan RN license if hired.

School of Nursing Summary:
The school of Nursing offers high quality and accessible education through CCNE accredited programs, including basic BSN, RN-BSN, BSN second degree; DNP in nurse anesthesia, acute care nurse practitioner, family nurse practitioner, adult-gerontology nurse practitioner, forensic nursing, post master's DNP and a post baccalaureate forensic nursing certification program.  A new online PhD program began in Fall 2019.  First consideration of applicants is on January 15, 2022 with continued search untill the position is filled.
