Acknowledging Professions
The Acknowledging Professions phase of the program is for nurses transitioning into various new nursing leadership roles. The program facilitates the partnering of an experienced nurse, who is committed to supporting the mentee throughout their transition into the next phase of their career.
The experienced mentor is a source of support for the transitioning nurse, available to answer questions, provide insight and experiential guidance. Mentors include the NBNA's officers, board members, and chapter presidents. The NBNA CMP Committee is responsible for the formation, activation, and evaluation of this program.
Acknowledging Professions supports the growth and development of nurses as they transition into leadership roles (e.g., any office in an organization, management, local Board positions, graduate-level degrees, etc.). The purpose is to foster the development of a nursing community and enhance the preceptor skills of nurses as they engage in the mentorship process.
