HIV/AIDS: Chapters participate in HIV/AIDS health education programs that focus on prevention and control, with women and children as primary targets. Since 1996, NBNA has been working with National Minority AIDS Education and Training Program at Howard University. The program's mission is to educate health care professional about HIV/AIDS. In 2001, NBNA became a collaborative partner with Ortho Biotech on its "Know Your Red Blood Cell Count" Campaign.
