outstanding educational conferences …1300 nurses, student nurses and exhibitors joined us at the 2003 NBNA Annual Institute and Conference in New Orleans; this compares to 1000 registrants in 2002 at the Houston conference. Ron Williams, President, Aetna, was the keynote speaker. The Cardiovascular Institute was sponsored by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, NIH. NBNA launched a Career Fair for 150 local students and persons interested in nursing as a career. A luncheon was hosted by the National Black Nurses Foundation to discuss the nursing shortage; and then a plenary session was held on nursing leadership. |
